Most divers, especially those in colder climates like Northwest Indiana, find themselves losing interest in the sport after the initial rush of becoming a certified scuba diver.  Now that the C-card has been obtained, what next?  Associating with other divers helps keep the sport more interesting.  Trips and dives are more fun when you go with more people, as well.
Also, many divers who do not have a regular dive buddy tend to drift out of the sport.  In our dive club you will find many dive buddies who are always anxious to go diving.
The Aquanauts are an active club.  We make dive outings, campouts, day trips, and international dive trips.  During the cold winter months we keep the social structure of the club intact with non-diving outings, dinners, and the occasional dive trip to the Caribbean or Pacific!
Proficient divers are always learning
One of the most important ways of becoming a more proficient diver is to associate and practice the sport with other divers.  Each diver brings a little bit of his or her experience to each dive outing, and new and seasoned divers alike can benefit from this experience.  In our club you will have the opportunity to learn about new equipment people have tried, places they have dived, and training they have done.
The Aquanauts Dive Club does not provide any formal instruction of divers.  We do have instructors and dive masters as members, but they are only diving as your buddy, not as an instructor.
